DOUGLAS BLACK HEATON is a British-Finnish composer writing music for TV, film, advertising, and games.
His recent work includes the BBC’s TOURING TOOLSHED with Sir David Jason, Jay Blades’ THROUGH TIME Series for C5, Simon Schama’s THE ROMANTICS AND US and MONTY DON'S JAPANESE GARDENS for BBC2, HURRICANE MAN for Discovery Science, DANNY & MICK for CBBC, ROYALS NEXT DOOR for RTE2, MOMOLU for YLE, ANGRY BIRDS SLINGSHOT STORIES for YouTube/Netflix and NOCTURNAL for Universal Production Music.
Doug has scored more than 300 episodes of ANGRY BIRDS animation, including PIGGY TALES and ANGRY BIRDS BLUES, as well as music for the ANGRY BIRDS SEASONS mobile game and playing guitar in the ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE, accompanying Peter “Tyrion Lannister” Dinklage, Josh “Olaf The Snowman” Gad and Jason “Ted Lasso” Sudeikis singing The Mighty Eagle song.
He has scored promos for JOHN LEWIS, L'OREAL, NOKIA and MOOMINS as well as music for Angry Birds tie ups with STAR WARS, LEGO, TRANSFORMERS and SHAKIRA.
Doug has attained an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law and an M.A. in media composition, worked previously for McLaren and was head of IT for a multinational based in Switzerland. He has lived in the UK, Switzerland, Italy and Finland, and is the current player/manager of the British Embassy Football Club in Helsinki.
He is a member of PRS and the Ivors Academy in the UK, and TEOSTO in FInland. He is also a tutor for Thinkspace Education , an online film scoring school run by Guy Michelmore, delivering Master's degree programmes at University of Chichester.
