DOUGLAS BLACK HEATON is a composer writing music for TV, film, advertising and games.

His latest work includes MONTY DON'S JAPANESE GARDENS for BBC2, HURRICANE MAN for UKTV, DANNY & MICK for CBBC, the YouTube web series ANGRY BIRDS ON THE RUN, internationally distributed animation series PIGGY TALES , BBC studio's NADIYA'S BRITISH FOOD ADVENTURE and the feature length historical documentary HIROSHIMA - THE REAL HISTORY for BBC/NHK/Arte/C5.

Douglas has scored more than 150 episodes of PIGGY TALES, ANGRY BIRDS BLUES and ANGRY BIRDS TOONS, all hugely successful internationally distributed animation series, as well as provided music for the phenomenally popular ANGRY BIRDS SEASONS game.

Other notable TV composition work includes the Kate Humble fronted CHINESE NEW YEAR: THE BIGGEST CELEBRATION ON EARTH for BBC2, Channel 4's  SCANDIMANIA, from River Cottage’s Hugh-Fearnley Whittingstall, BBC2's WORLD'S GREATEST FOOD MARKETS, DAMBUSTERS' GREAT ESCAPE (narrated by by Dominic West) and TREASURES OF THE JADE EMPIRE (narrated by Paul McGann), both for Channel 4's Secret History strand.

Douglas has contributed music to a variety of different advertisements and promotional campaigns including Angry Birds tie ups with STAR WARS, LEGO, TRANSFORMERS and SHAKIRA, as well as scoring promos for JOHN LEWIS, L'OREAL and NOKIA.

His guitar playing can be heard in Sony's ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE, where he accompanies Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Jason Sudeikis and Danny McBride singing the "Mighty Eagle Song".

Douglas is part of the Accorder Music family of composers. He is also a tutor at Thinkspace Education, an online film scoring school run by Guy Michelmore.
