DOUGLAS BLACK HEATON is a composer, music editor and producer writing music for TV, film, advertising and games.

His latest work includes BBC studio's NADIYA'S BRITISH FOOD ADVENTURE with Nadiya Hussein, internationally distributed animation series ANGRY BIRDS BLUES, the Kate Humble fronted CHINESE NEW YEAR: THE BIGGEST CELEBRATION ON EARTH for BBC2, and the feature length historical documentary HIROSHIMA - THE REAL HISTORY for NHK/Arte/BBC WW/C5 (narrated by John Sessions).

Douglas has scored more than 150 episodes of ANGRY BIRDS TOONS, PIGGY TALES and ANGRY BIRDS BLUES, all hugely successful internationally distributed animation series, as well as provided music for the phenomenally popular ANGRY BIRDS SEASONS game.

Other notable TV composition work includes Channel 4's  SCANDIMANIA, from River Cottage’s Hugh-Fearnley Whittingstall, BBC2's WORLD'S GREATEST FOOD MARKETS, DAMBUSTERS' GREAT ESCAPE (narrated by by Dominic West) and TREASURES OF THE JADE EMPIRE (narrated by Paul McGann), both for Channel 4.

Douglas has contributed music to a variety of different advertisements and promotional campaigns for ROVIO including ANGRY BIRDS tie ups with STAR WARS, LEGO, TRANSFORMERS and SHAKIRA, as well as scoring promos for JOHN LEWIS, L'OREAL and NOKIA.

His guitar playing can be heard in Sony's ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE, where he accompanies Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Jason Sudeikis and Danny McBride singing the "Mighty Eagle Song".

As well as being an accomplished musician Douglas holds a degree in Law (LL. B(Hons)) from Nottingham Law School and previously worked as an IT professional for TAG McLaren before becoming Head of IT for a multi-national manufacturer based in Zurich. He has also attained a Master’s degree (M.A.) in Professional Media Composition.

Douglas is part of the Accorder Music family of composers. He is also a tutor at Thinkspace Education, an online film scoring school run by Guy Michelmore.
